Approach to Counselling
Laura Henderson’s approach to counselling is rooted in many theoretical orientations. In addition to strengths-based therapy she uses Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MCBT), motivational interviewing and attachment theory. Because all clients come with unique needs, Laura is careful to select counselling approaches that are best suited for each of her clients.

Education and Experience
Laura Henderson has a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology. In addition, she has over 10 years of experience working in the public school system. She also runs parenting support groups in her community and has experience working with a variety of youth. Laura’s work includes working with incarcerated young offenders and youth with advanced behavioral needs. Also, Laura has training in critical incident response, crisis intervention, SafeTalk for suicidal ideation and ASIST. This experience and education has shaped Laura’s ability to support clients with a variety of needs.
