Kristen Johnston, MA, RCC is the Clinical Director of Juniper Counselling, a respected mental health clinic based in Port Moody, BC. Known for her warm, evidence-based, and community-centered approach, Kristen has developed a strong reputation as a therapist, educator, and thought leader who blends clinical expertise with accessible mental health education.

Kristen brings over a decade of experience in counselling psychology, drawing on Existential psychotherapy, CBT, somatic practices, trauma-informed care, polyvagal theory, ACT strategies, and mental health literacy frameworks. She is known for her ability to translate complex psychological concepts into practical, compassionate tools that empower clients, professionals, and community partners.

At Juniper Counselling, Kristen leads a multidisciplinary counselling team, provides clinical supervision, and oversees program development. Her recognizable brand—rooted in kindness, curiosity, and courage—has made Juniper a trusted clinic for individuals, families, and community organizations in the Tri-Cities. Kristen is also the creator of several evidence-informed mental health education programs, including Mental Health Hygiene and Fitness with Mental Health in Mind,—resources now used by instructors, educators, and community groups across Metro Vancouver.
