Tamsen (they/them) is a a student therapist completing the practicum portion of their degree. Student therapists are supervised by Kristen Johnston MA RCC-ACS. Most extended health benefits will cover student therapists, but it’s a good idea to check first!

Tamsen offers a directive and transparent approach while fostering an empathetic and non-judgemental environment. They take a holistic, curious approach throughout your work together; this means exploring both the psychological and physical aspects of yourself. They believe that the embodied, felt sense of safety and justice in ourselves frees us to pursue it in the world. By reclaiming feeling and relationship we transform ourselves and our world.


Approach to Counselling

Tamsen specializes in working alongside people with chronic and life-limiting illness, people who have experienced trauma or are involved with someone who has, and healthcare professionals. They support 2SLGBTQIA+ identifying and queer curious people, men, and women. Tamsen combines their experience as a body movement specialist with their ongoing training in mental health to provide open, honest support for the whole person with culturally sensitive explorations.

You’ll experience a curious, affirming counsellor that challenges you to express yourself fully and notice the connections throughout your story and your experiences. Ready to meet you wherever you are each time we interact.
